Annie’s Burger Shack has dozens of varieties of burger which can all be made vegan. There is a huge variety and a lot of imaginative recipes. For example, the Sunday Dinner burger has mock chicken, roast pudding, roast potatoes and stuffing all in a bun. All burgers come with wedges or fries. Cost from £8.90 for a basic burger to around £12.90 for a huge Boston Nibbler burger – two patties, cheese, bacon, pineapple and onion rings!
There is also a specials board which may include desserts (e.g. a vegan chocolate cake with chocolate sauce) and vegan real ale on tap and in bottles.
Annie’s has also started serving breakfasts and, like the burgers, they are huge and delicious. Vegan options include blueberry pancakes and filled bagels.
Annie’s is very popular so it can be hard to get a table, so booking well in advance is advised. However, there are tables left free for walk-ins each day so you may be lucky, particularly if you turn up just before they open.
